Your Expert Guide to Windows, Blinds & Home Glazing in the UK
Every British winter plays the same trick on us. The heating goes on, the meter spins, and the living room still feels like a church hall in February. Windows are the usual suspect, and thermal curtains for energy saving are about the least dramatic fix going: no scaffolding, no builders, no obligation to make anyone … Read more
You hung the “blackout” curtains. You still woke at 4:47 a.m. to a laser-thin blade of sunrise slicing across the pillow. Sound familiar? Welcome to the great blackout con: plenty of curtains wear the label without earning it, and even the honest ones lose a few battles at the edges. The best blackout curtains do … Read more
There is a special kind of dread reserved for the parent of a baby who has finally, gloriously, dropped off. Then the sun clears the neighbour’s roof at 4:45am. There’s a particular kind of 2am frustration that comes from tugging a curtain closed and getting a screech loud enough to wake the whole street. Nine times out of ten, it isn’t the pole. It isn’t the curtains. It’s the little metal loops doing the actual work — and most of us never think about … Read more
There’s a particular kind of heartbreak reserved for anyone who has ever heard a soft, ominous creak from above their window at 2am. It’s the sound of a pole giving up.
